Barmby Moor is renowned for it's warmth and friendly farming community. There are several pubs within easy reach of the park, including "The Boot and Slipper" in the village, where you can enjoy a pint of the finest ale with mine hosts Bob and Jan.

The neigbouring market town of Pocklington has good shopping facilities, a swimming pool, bars, resteraunts and take-aways to suit all tastes.

Gliding lessons are available at the gliding club on the local airfield at very reasonable prices.

No visit here would be complete without visiting the lovely Burnby Hall Gardens in nearby Pocklington.

Sited almost in the town centre itself, the gardens are a haven of peace and tranquility.

The country lanes are excellent cycling routes for you and your children to enjoy.
